Sports Membership (Premier - Four-year period)

The supplementary documentation will need to be uploaded near the end of the application.

  • Sports/playing resume on your background and involvement in your interested sport.
  • Sports Membership - main applicant, and spouse/domestic partner applicant (if applicable), must be aged 18 or above.
  • Copies of passport and HKID card of the main applicant, and the spouse/domestic partner applicant (if applicable).
  • Copy of marriage certificate if the main applicant is married or signed Partner Declaration. Please click here to download the Partner Declaration Form.
  • Copy of documentary proof for the parental relationship between the main applicant / the spouse/domestic partner applicant and each of the child who is single and aged under 25 (if applicable).
  • 1 Passport size recent colour photograph (must be with clear background and full frontal face) of each of the main applicant, the spouse/domestic partner applicant and children (if applicable).
  • Cheque made payable to "Ladies Recreation Club" for the advanced payment of monthly subscriptions. Please check the following schedule of Membership Fees & Subscriptions.

Procedures:

An application form is to be addressed to the Sports and Recreation Manager with a covering letter highlighting background and qualifications in his/her sport. Application is then forwarded to the related Sports Sub-committee. Sports Convenors, in concert with their sub-committees and the Club’s teaching professionals will identify individual who is prepared to make a serious playing commitment to his/her sport at the LRC. The Sports Sub-committee, if approved, will recommend the applicant, whose application will then be assessed by the Membership Sub-committee and the General Committee.

  1. Representing the LRC by playing in a certain required team matches / swimming sessions per month.
  2. Participating in LRC Championship Events.
  3. Participating in several of special social events at the LRC.
  4. The appropriate Sports Sub-committee (Tennis, Swimming, Indoor Sports) and teaching professionals will review the performance of their candidates in the Sports Membership category regularly. In the event that a Sports member does not fulfil the requirements as agreed to, the proposing Sub-committee will recommend a suitable course of action to ensure compliance or alternatively the Sports Membership will be cancelled and all fees paid be forfeited.
  5. When a Sports member - Junior reaches 18 years old, he/she may apply for Sports member - Premier / Sports member - Adult, If membership for a Sports member - Premier / Sports member - Adult is offered but declines to accept, he/she will cease to be a member and no fees will be refunded.
  6. Sports member – Premier

    • 6.1 Upon completion of the initial 4 years membership, the relevant Sports Subcommittee may decide to recommend to extend the Sports Membership for up to four years (one off) without any additional entrance fee.

    • 6.2 Upon completion of the initial 4 years membership (or 8 years if the initial membership was extended) a Sports member - Premier may be recommended for Ordinary Membership by the sponsoring section. If this recommendation is approved by the Membership Subcommittee, the Sports member - Premier will be required to be balloted. On the assumption that the Sports member - Premier is recommended for membership following the Ballot, the Sports member - Premier will become an Ordinary member and he / she will be required to pay the conversion fee of 50% of the prevailing Ordinary Membership entrance fee, within one week of the offer of Ordinary Membership.

    • 6.3 If a Sports member - Premier is offered 4 years (one off) extension or Ordinary Membership but declines to accept the offer, he / she will cease to be a member. If a Sports member - Premier is not offered 4 years (one off) extension or Ordinary Membership, he / she will cease to be a member.

    • 6.4 If a Sports member – Premier decides to terminate his/her membership for any reason, he / she will cease to be a member.

  7. Sports member – Adult
    • 7.1 Upon completion of the initial 4 years membership, the relevant Sports Subcommittee may decide to recommend to extend the Sports Membership for up to four years (one off) without any additional entrance fee.
    • 7.2 Upon completion of the initial 4 years membership (or 8 years if the initial membership was extended) a Sports member - Adult may be recommended for Ordinary Membership by the sponsoring section. If this recommendation is approved by the Membership Subcommittee, the Sports member - Adult will be required to be balloted. On the assumption that the Sports member - Adult is recommended for membership following the Ballot, the Sports member - Adult will become an Ordinary member and he / she will be required to pay the conversion fee equal to the prevailing Ordinary Membership entrance fee less the amount already paid for the Sports Membership. Payment is due within one week of the offer of Ordinary Membership.
    • 7.3 If a Sports member – Adult is offered 4 years (one off) extension or Ordinary Membership but declines to accept the offer, he / she will cease to be a member, and all fees paid will be forfeited and no fees paid will be refunded. If a Sports member - Adult is not offered a 4 years (one off) extension or Ordinary Membership, he / she will cease to be a member, and all fees paid will be forfeited and no fees paid will be refunded.
    • 7.4 If a Sports member – Adult decides to terminate his / her membership for any reason, all fees paid shall be forfeited and no fees paid will be refunded.
